To begin 2007 correctly I try to focus on important stuff,
test future means of transportation with my kids,
stay close to my friends,
jump on top of the issues,
without breaking the obstacles ;-)

As this amazing kite surf jump video has a lot of success and the original link was broken, I uploaded it on my blog and repaired the link on my earlier post.
Incredible Kite Boarder jump in Cabarete, on top of the road, on top of the trees, and finally the kite surfer lands OK.
What's cool with Kite Boarding is that it is not dangerous at all if you manage to choose the right cloud.
I fly to Cabarete for a few days of Kite Surfing and guess who I discover ? Max, a French speaking TypePad blogger who likes Kite Surf too. Now this is real social software... Photo Photosmax.
I have been spending most of my Sunday answering and cleaning about 500 emails so I though 4 AM was a good time for some fun before going to sleep, here is my new Kite Surf board that Jérôme of Radical shaped with love.
It is much smaller than the old one , about 1m40 which is very small for my heavy weight of 103Kg. This board is so light the jumps and maneuvers are extremely fast. Speed is very high as well, close to perfection for me.
The new ailerons look really nice, they are rock solid.
This new custom board is pure adrenaline and lets me go to sleep with Kite Surf ideas rather than email ideas...

If you have not time to go kite surfing, as it is often the case for me, check out this Kite Surfing Simulator, it looks fun.
Today I broke my Kite Surf board, a wonderful radical. I was at full speed, too close to another surfer that did not look behind him and suddenly changed direction.
What's fun is that he also had a radical board even though not so many people have one and his board is not broken. I guess I touched the ailerons, which are rock solid on these boards.

I could still kite surf today, with some tape on the hole. It did not change much to my speed as I had a 14 square meter kite, as usual, 2 to 4 meters more than the other kite boarders as I am much heavier. I jumped like hell, the 20kt wind was really sportive with a 14 meter, but took me to the sky.
Cool & funny or egocentric again & it sucks and I have to replace it immediately ?

I had one of the best day of my three years of Kite Surfing today, 4 hours non-stop. I finally tried my brand new F-One M3 14 m2 which was perfect with 20 knots today (I am heavy so I always have 2 m2 more than everybody). The vertical power of that new kite is just amazing, I don't know how high I managed to fly but I could count to 10 from take off to landing on the sea and I don't remember having experienced jumps that high, really cool. The speed it provides is excellent as well. I need to practice my back rotations again, it has been a long time since I practiced so the basic stuff and the jumps were fine but when rotations come I could feel how rusty I was...
Next time I am in San Francisco, I take my Kite Surfing gear, I am dreaming about Kite Surfing on the SF Bay...
