What is international? my Crunchies video mashup

Thanks all the Crunchies team for having invited me to present the international award at the Crunchies. It is a good initiative that the community here in Silicon Valley really likes.

I have put a few clips together from the Crunchies yesterday and included my jokes about international. Jokes apart it is great there was an international category at the Crunchies but one category only for the entire "rest of the World" is not much. I am even wondering actually why there is a distinction between the US and "rest of the world", I think we should just feel like we are one community regardless of where the startup is based. That is my goal for LeWeb, not make it feel european, but just global, it will take time but we are getting there with 30 countries there last december. That is one of the best thing about Silicon Valley: half of the internet industry friends who live here are actually not american but coming from around the world so it is a world itself just local here.

Instead of rest of the world we should probably just say "not based in Silicon Valley".

Congratulations to all the winners of the 2009 Crunchies, some clips of the winners in my video: Marissa, Cooliris, Twitter, Friendfeed and... Zuck of course. Thank you Crunchies team for having invited me to present the international award, I had lots of fun.

About

Welcome to my blog. Based in San Francisco, I am an entrepreneur and a blogger. I just started my fifth startup, Seesmic, a community driven video social software. Here is what TechCrunch says about it.

I am blogging every day a video on loic.tv about (almost) everything I do as I start Seesmic, I also constantly post short thoughts to twitter and often my pictures on Flickr.

I also organize every year in Paris the conference LeWeb3 that gathers more than a thousand bloggers and entrepreneurs from 40 countries on Dec 11 and 12.

If you would like to learn more, here is a bio, my LinkedIn profile, my wikipedia pages in english and french. Sometimes they are subject to changes that do not always reflect what I consider the truth but that is the principle.

You may also want to subscribe to my RSS feeds in English, French or my video podcast feed.
