Summary Video and Post about The Community Q&A
We had a very intense and interesting Q&A with the Seesmic community yesterday, an exercise I would like to repeat regularly. There are 160 videos in the thread which would take you something like 3 hours to watch the entire conversation. I have not answered all the hundreds of questions as it would have taken a full day but most of them. Many were similar questions too and I tried to address the most popular questions.
For those of you who want to quickly browse through the Q&A we have put together a summary video in a few minutes (below) as well as a transcript of the questions I answered with a link to my answers. I hope you find it useful thank you very much everybody for your attention and suggestions. I really appreciate your time and interest. Special thanks to Thomas for the hours spent listening and writing the transcript and the editing team for the summary.

* thank you for making yourself available
* I received a tweet from you about this video, but I can't find it in
the timeline.
* You have a lot of resources. You've created a few videos on here and
on youtube that discuss the amount of work you're doing on the backend
to address scalability and redundancy. Obviously, we don't need to
know the details of your technology. But, there are other video
platform sites which have no where near the resources you do, and do
not have any of the bugs.
* Wondering if these changes in staffing reflect a decision to invest
back into the technology... because most of the community will be
excited about that.
* We're tired of "next week"
* We are excited for the changes, becuase we're telling new users that
things are going to get better is hurting our credibility as users
* Resonsiveness by the platform to address the bug reports and
features is much less than other sites with fewer resources

* will the new seesmic imiplement an annimation
* it is difficult for everyone to follow every thread
* could someone take all the threads of the day, and basically be a
web DJ, remixing all the threads of the day, and giving a summary? So
eveyone knows what happened that day?

* I was nervous, with the queen talking down on loic.
* I wish she could ask loic to wear a hat
* I've heard loic talk about user generated content. I want to know
what everything thinks the answer to "Seesmic is...." is?
* Currious about how seesmic should be organized as a tool to support
this possibility
* I don't feel I'm creating content on seesmic, I'm having
conversations, and wondering if people will reply
* I could, however, take content out of seesmic, and do something with
it somewhere else.
* The message itself is not content.
* The seesmic tool could help us express ourselves, to create
conversations, and to create content.
* The opportunity I saw from the beginning is this idea of not being
able to 'talk back to the television'... but on seesmic I have a voice
with a big group of people.
* We are one human being spreading to a group of people. Most people
don't have this possibility, but in here we do.
* I was never in relationship with the people who collect or view my
artistic works, but now I have an interaction with them.
* We feel good about the opportunity to interact with others in a public way
* Are we simply going to copy big media? No, we want to do something more...
* We don't need the seesmic team to start conversations
* I have become friends with Rachael and Sukhjit, so we feel VERY bad
about seeing them leave.
* I feel Seesmic is recentering on how they want to feature users
rather than generating the content
* Loic must have thought about all this, and had to make the tough
decision to move back to focusing on users.
* Glad to see everyone missing the peopole who were let go, and
helping them move on to their next thing.
* No one has done this type of transparent conversation before, good
to see it happen.

* Do you have any project to create a bundle of seesmic that we can
put on our own intranet?
* Not a widget, but a full version of seesmic that we can put on our
own intranet or extranet?
* For example, a company that does customer support could use this
tool to create an intimacy between the company and the customer.
* We would want to put our own interface, logo, etc on the site.j
* Is this possible in the future of the seesmic platform?

integrating the technology on this thrid party app that is very
interested in using seesmic platform
* Will your relationship with smaller third party sites improve?

* Where is the company going?
* I've invested a huge amount of time on this platform, and invited a

* Are we going to have a public timeline?
* Will your staff be in the public timeline?
* Will we still have conversations in the public timeline?

* Where is seesmic going to be in terms of content generated by you?
* Are you going to move away from that?
* What is the remaining content team going to be doing?
* I think there are still 4 memebers there?
* Are they going to become community moderators... or what are they going to do?

* We are concerned about whether we are going to lose our community?
* Should we start gathering each others email and phone numbers so we
can stay in touch?
* Are seesmic going to be like youtube? Where the staff doesn't get
involved in the community? Is seesmic going to be part of the glue of
the community? Or is your stuff just going to watch us and moderate
us?

* I get what you're saying about not wanting to be responsible for the
conversations
* twitter has a bunch of experts tweeting (unlike seesmic)
* rachael and sukhjit brought a level of expertise
* it might be difficult for seesmic users to lead their own conversations
* In some cases maybe you need to provide that prompting
