We're not in a bubble

Scoble asks if we are in a bubble because Redux would have raised $8m. Congratulations to them. I have not found any source yet about it I may be asleep or something. I do no think we are in a bubble, on the contrary I see more and more of my entrepreneur friends struggling to get funding at all stages of their companies and that is sad. Any startup in early stages getting significant funding these days is a performance, so congrats to Redux. I think Scoble does not like their service which is something different than being in a bubble. If we were in a bubble the attendance at last New Media Expo (which I could not attend but my team did) would have been much higher, I still heard it was an awesome crowd and event.

Do you think we are in a bubble? I feel much more of a recession...

I would love to see new futuristic UIs in our pockets or laptops soon. I can't wait for Jeff Han's incredible UI and met him recently at Foo Camp but it looks like we will have to wait years.

Ben Kunz says that the Trouble with Twitter is that is does not have a business model while with their usage growth and community I have no problems to imagine how easy for them it will be when they want to turn on revenues. I would pay $15 a month for Twitter, it helps me daily keep in touch with my friends in a way that I had never done before. I would rather they pick this business model rather than advertising or at least give me choice as I would hate to see ads on my tweets, but that is a personal choice.

About

Welcome to my blog. Based in San Francisco, I am an entrepreneur and a blogger. I just started my fifth startup, Seesmic, a community driven video social software. Here is what TechCrunch says about it.

I am blogging every day a video on loic.tv about (almost) everything I do as I start Seesmic, I also constantly post short thoughts to twitter and often my pictures on Flickr.

I also organize every year in Paris the conference LeWeb3 that gathers more than a thousand bloggers and entrepreneurs from 40 countries on Dec 11 and 12.

If you would like to learn more, here is a bio, my LinkedIn profile, my wikipedia pages in english and french. Sometimes they are subject to changes that do not always reflect what I consider the truth but that is the principle.

You may also want to subscribe to my RSS feeds in English, French or my video podcast feed.
