What would you do if you were the CEO of Seesmic?

I am trying to gather the most amazing feedback a CEO of company has ever had about what he should do. All in the open and in public. The way I did it is simple, I used Seesmic, Twitter and Friendfeed (as well as this blog you can leave a comment) to gather tons of feedback about what people would do if they were... me. Founder and CEO of a brand new startup. Here is the pitch. We are innovating and creating something new, we are not a copy cat of anything. We believe in conversations and our friends feedback. We love it so much we wondered why these conversations were not also happening in video and launched Seesmic. More intimacy, more feelings, almost as close as reality. We love conversations so much that we got the best investors in the world with us. This love also helped us gather the best community around Seesmic. Amazing, just see the feedback we got around this question in a few minutes.

Here is now our challenge: the only question we focus on is "what would make YOU use Seesmic every single day?" Think out of the box, do not limit yourself to anything (including video!) just be open and see what we have ( an amazing community, a great team and technology, a superb API and the best world class investors in the World) and tell me what you would do if you were me.

What do you get from telling me? Honestly? I don't know and to be honest with you my friends, I won't promise anything. Actually that is wrong, I will commit to prioritize what you think I should do and just do it. Let's see where we go from your suggestions. My first commitment is to gather every single of your suggestion on this post during 48hours and then start prioritizing your suggestions. Thank you all, I love you all you know that.
You can reply on Seesmic, Twitter, Friendfeed or comments on this post, I will list them all, as long as they are on topic.

update: this post if the result of about 6 hours of work, transcribing Seesmic videos, gathering Twitter and Friendfeed feedback, all in one post.

Unless I missed anything (and I probably did), here is all the feedback I got as it arrived sorted by time. It took me about 5 hours to collect, transcript and gather all the feedback on this single post. When you think about it, it is nothing against the information that helps me prioritize seesmic future steps. Thank you all.

Feedback from Seesmic:

1- Freidawolden thinks I am paying lots of attention to my "family" (Seesmic) and I "see" them
2- Kevin Spidel loves my open response to anything happening in Seesmic. He would make priorities being 1. making this venue more accessible to more individuals via mobile platforms. Apps for iphone. Being able to have a conversation anywhere mobile. 2. democracy. bring into social online advocacy, more civic participation (???)
3- no idea who that is as there is no profile but from the replyI hear online education is important and the user wants virtual classrooms when people can ask questions and interact. "make the content more compelling and keep me coming back" "I am not interested in other people thoughts" but more start draw your audience in what is interesting for the people via tagging and topics. I come back by a tweet from you or someone else but generally I do not come back as I do not feel the subject is connected to me. Keep up the good work.
4- fred2baro says I should put my ego on a diet for a diet, replace friendfeed and twitter by notepad (?) and hire fred2baro (him)
5- adolfo says he would watch every peny and be cheap as he saw many companies burn their funding on foolish things. He would insist on mobile.
6- kass says he likes everything about Seesmic
7- paul says I had a good birthday party and 1) add Creative Commons 2) have a favorite of videos of people you follow 3) make strategic alliances with people but I won't tell you whom but I guarantee there is a business 4) needs to play on the iphone 5) I would figure out how to acquire Twitter but I am not quite sure 6) using Seesmic for politics would rock 7) I would create a separate Seesmic or channel for the regular stuff to be discussed (?) that does not allow people to change the thread
8- adolfo adds that I do fine marketing(?), the Xfiles thing intention was a good ideam, the execution was not good enough, I would get together an analytics team together and test the site make decisions on qualitative and quantitative data and do what you do to change seesmic all the time not being afraid to change it dramatically based on seesmic feedback and analytics
9- Paul echoes Adolfo and says you need to pay your people well and be super careful with the money, leave frugaly. Don't burn money on crapy stuff. Continue if you say something to follow through.
10- Paul adds he would setup contests of some sort. To bring some substance to the conversation. Partnership with folks and so forth.
11- Kevin says I should care about non profits and find a way the dialog is built with the constituency in an organized manned for online activists
12- Paul would go and find famous people from studios and get them interviewed on Seesmic , movies stars. Do a "Robert Scoble" on Seesmic interviewing famous movie stars instead of geeks. Let us ask questions to the celebrities. Get our questions find the celebrity and get our questions answered.
13- Kevin says I should delegate more even if I love the community
14- igorthetroll says I should visit a different city in the world and talk about travels
15- fred2baro says I should get the artists closer to the users, things to organize, contests, "so many things to do but I do not know what to begin with"
16- Kevin will be impressed if I read all these responses and wants to tell me more offline about some other things
17- Paul asks if my #1 one goal is to have a higher number of people signup to Seesmic or create more content? (I answer in video more members)
18- Melissa asks why all the interesting conversations happen as she wants to go to sleep. Melissa wants field reporters and would hook them up with a laptop and a webcam so that the public can report and enter the conversation and get people completely unfamiliar with Seesmic interact. Melissa advises me to try and get out of the geek world. Send the people in my office interact with the people.
19- Paul would tell all the guys here to stop posting without a shirt
20- Anika answered (and got back in Seesmic just to answer this) that people should have access to more information about how Seesmic is run, and would like a block button, groups, replace topics and shows by the community who have great shows too, the first users in seesmic should see the user generated video of the day, unlike youtube it should be intelligent and insightful and help people who have their own shows in Seesmic on their own blogs they should be listed in the topics and shows. But I need more information about Seesmic.
21- Fred2baro is now very late for his job but says mobile needs to be updated, simple things like (?) simple page with the timeline updating on its own with RSS feeds where you can see all the posts and the replies, you need to go on events and interview people like Sukhjit and Rachael did on the iphone, the flash interface is too heavy, many things are not used and should be reorganized, video player must be upgraded so that it can be configured it needs to be good (?) and more focus on what people can do with it (?) filter the content and what the owner of the blog wants to do with it (I get it), then show most active users, most seen videos, the narcissic side of Seesmic.
22- igorthetroll says go travel again and see the world
23- freida says use the force. Look at Ebay. If Ebay asked all the members what they think they will all have different answers so stop listening to us and use the force.
24- Bert has 5 things, 1- the interface with less CPU usage, 2- video comments plus white labelled 3- product version adjusted by users 4- mobile seesmic 5- sell Seesmic to Microsoft or Google
25- Anika says it is a global website so users should do man in the street demoes, help me use Seesmic for interviews, make it clear it is ok to do interviews, push in politics and education, help fast learners who learnt fash and the "mamy bloggers?" (fan stops and it feels so much better), somebody saw all the videos I posted here and found it was great (you mean we need a better profile right?), bring in just all the content from the community and have it featured would be pretty cool, I am always blown away by what people have worked on
26- Lloyd says it is an interesting thread and that I should get inspired by the stormhoek model and help people get together in events and map the members on a map. give the people x$ to throw a Seesmic party, work out a format for it and get people talk about Seesmic. Look at the rest of the Wolrd where Seesmic has not enough people. Also you have to think like a drug dealer and what you can hook people with because we need an addictive thing. I do not know what that is if I knew I would do it myself.
27- chris says he would create the group feature in Seesmic to use Seesmic in teaching to communicate with the students. Needs to control the replies only coming from the students. This needs to be a group of only those people. That would make me come and use Seesmic every day.
28- Lloyd adds that what made Seesmic so cool is that the first people who used it felt like a small community and there needs to be something that helps us feel like that. Easy to say that from here but you really want to do this.
29- vixy says (not almost naked this time) that we need reporters on the street video blogging because that would be more of a show than broadcasting media television. Then people are really not comfortable with webcams. It is a trust issue, people do not know what we are going to do with their personality and their image. When broadcasting stations use people image they trust them while people are afraid how Seesmic will use people's image.
30- cataspanglish says that the problem the more people coming into it the public timeline becomes impossible. If you get involved in a thread you have troubles finding the content and you lost 2 hours in a thread. That sense of community will be difficult as it grows. If you just check in to Seesmic 2 or 3 times a day to see what is going on it is just chaos and it just makes it real real complicate. The private feature should be within a group. You could have the Seesmic book club and the marketing possibilities of that are phenomenal. Give me that job and I will get something HUGE for you Loic. That is my idea I want money for that one. The videobloggers group. You share advise. Whatever. I am organizing podcamp Barcelona right now and something like that. The educational possibilities are phenomenal with Seesmic. I saw it straight away. Help me using with students. Educational science is a great way to make money here.
31- Melissa says she create a new thread but sums it up as an everyday use for schools to make it use a little more safer between teachers and students. Students should only see what they should see. Some things are inappropriate for kids. Seesmic could be used as a communication tool for parents to have a dialog with their child. This would be on a daily basis. she adds that all over the World communication requires channels and people signup as moderators and help filter that stuff. It is a lot of work but it has already become for me a tool for my little boy to talk to children all around the country but I need it private before it can scale larger. Need channels and moderators.
32- jangles answers that I have a terrific product and a phenomenal community. He does not uses it so much but keeps in his mind is mobile and wants a new mobile client. Neville would like to test it to current users and ask feedback from users. It is a gap and Seesmic should enable communication on mobile platforms. Focus on S60 platform. Enable that to be tested and get it up in the priorities. Start talking to some of the mobile operators to get seesmic bundled with phones (vodafone, etc). I would also talk to platform developers for blogs like wordpress. I love your plugin and wordpress 2.6 should integrate it by default and Seesmic included there. Talk to MT and Drupal. Get it integrated in TypePad and Blogger. Focus on the tools. Do not focus more on the community. I would focus everything on mobile. (this is very useful Neville thanks for taking the time!).
33- igorthetroll wonders if I should pay people to give me this feedback. Actually I have no idea what he says?
34- chris has two things and wants to help with speech to text with some kind of weird software and saw the potential in Seesmic that you can simultaneously record the video and have the text. Insitst on the group things as a fundemental thing now. Insists on helping to know who are the people posting on Seesmic. You have to give people a reason to use Seesmic. That reason is to create a place to understand and share what is going on. When I came to Seesmic I could not see how to use it. Then I understood I needed to customize this like Ning to bring other people to use the platform, otherwise it is just chaos.
35- igorthetroll says Seesmic will be canibalized by a clone (should I write what this guy is saying?)
36- Paul adds that he talked about Seesmic with Howard Rheingold and will bring all his 75 students at least and will use Seesmic with education. Questions should be prerecorded and students should be able to sign up. All students will have a twitter, flickr, wordpress and Seesmic accounts. Partnering with an educational distributor. Do it with the right folks and they may even buy you.
37- Brad says that the only text to speech solutions are by hand and he is afraid that I have to pay somebody to pay. I would like see open sessions that DO NOT APPEAR in Google and would really appreciate the ability to screen certain conversations from Google. Just very basic robots.txt to screen stuff and not appear in search engines.
[a few replies between users]
38- erik says he wants to bring more students and needs to define the timeline based on groups out of his taste. I can't find a way to enter a thread with hundreds of replies and find the first post that started it. Grouping option should be obvious to follow specific people, Should be able to follow people that are interesting to YOU. I would find partners to do crossovers so that any media can take part of this.
39- shinchi (seesmic employees) suggests users can post tutorials showing what they do in games. I love the idea but we need some kind of screen capture to do this.

update:
40- @tiil is the new CEO of Seesmic so cool!
-no more video conversation slogan and that much focus on it. Seesmic is the tool to help communicating in your own life.
-the user will have the choice of his own interface. give the power to users use it the way they want and change the layout. Access content, find videos.
-lots of statistics
-give power to the users to do what they want to do in life and communicate.
-we have better to do than talk to Freida (!)
41- haltse wants to grab the comments like in jumpcut and would like to have "the best" in big threads
42- Anika wants more support for interviews and Q&A like Rachael does
43- (french) Kamel wants Seesmic pour les professionnels news a travers le monde
44- Justin wants the community to vote for the roadmap
45- Ryan would focus on removing the stigma of putting videos of yourself is awkward and weird to do. If I show my girlfriend and my friends Seesmic they are very uncomfortable with it. I would work hugely on the fact that Seesmic is so weird to do. Try to reach people who are not very comfortable with the Internet because Seesmic is the tool that promotes social interactions
46- Brant as a content producer wants his shows to be promoted in Seesmic in topics and shows.
Brant wants to see more shows generating Q&As. Seesmic works well and would like to have some kind of live video responses after the shows.
Better searching.
Who is online right now
Upload videos from a cellphone
47- Dean leaves a video comment that says mobile, flash interface taking too much CPU, but would suggest an overall of the 3rd party and program content. Do more, different and better. You have unboxing and newspop and produced video threads. You spend a little bit of money on that but should invest much more because Seesmic could be a replacement for television for people who watch Seesmic. Content should be more sophisticated and the show he hosted with the Seesmic community worked fantastically well. Ask people what they are interested in in content and then help structure it. Invite me to California I will come work with you for a month.

paulvalach: @loiclemeur everyday use.. that there is content on it that I need or want.. I have at least five such things...so.make it iPhone compatible

tonysteward: @loiclemeur Again, I think that you just need the ability to feed the audio from video into jott.com's tech for video to text capability.
loiclemeur: @photoboy this is cool but I am not sure people would use it everyday just because we enable Seesmic on iphone
TomRaftery: @loiclemeur Excellent Loic delighted to hear it. One more feature, I need to look like Brad Pitt in my Seesmics!!!! When is new Seesmic out?
cesararevalo: @loiclemeur oh and you could add your services on top of friendfeed aswell, that would be cool! heck you would become a platform

zachflauaus: @loiclemeur And maybe possibly recording a vid on your phone and either email or MMS it to Seesmic.
tonysteward: @loiclemeur Maybe the Jott.com tech could be used just as easily? And it would be great to have the search point its mention in playhead.
zachflauaus: @loiclemeur What about viewing videos on your phone? There have been instances where I want to watch a vid but just have my BlackBerry.
bryanwoods: @loiclemeur speech recognition could easily be seesmic's killer app. I could see that being extremely useful.
patphelan: @loiclemeur I would get underprivileged kids involved, sponsor some pc in inner city school, watched this movie last night http://url.ie/iyl
erikvisser: @loiclemeur great question. I would hire you. Are you expensive? And if there is some money left I'll hire more good people. And brainstorm!

lukefrombuzzle: @loiclemeur finally..sorta like online classrooms where we all interact etc and learn..need to be moderated etc, but could be nice?
TomRaftery: @loiclemeur Code it in something other than Flash. Flash sends the processor on my machine into 90%+ mode

lukefrombuzzle: @loiclemeur Or someway of getting the content to more devices - still feel like Seesmic is used by so few..therefore small audience (doh)

andrewwardlaw: @loiclemeur much more mobile support and maybe an adobe air app. Mobile as a priority though. Finding time to be at my pc is v hard for me.
lukefrombuzzle: @loiclemeur maybe a combination of seesmic and alltop would work - where I can share ideas with like communities?
epiccolotto: @loiclemeur I would make twhirl take videos and post them on seesmic. So I would use it daily and would be easier and faster to create video

sanfranmash: via @bck: @loiclemeur it's all about mobile. Posting from mobile should be totally simple, and viewing from mob... http://tinyurl.com/67bt7m
bck: @loiclemeur it's all about mobile. Posting from mobile should be totally simple, and viewing from mobile should be as nice as possible

eftekhari: @loiclemeur thinking about more revenue!! and also talking to team to work more about technical problem,(increasing functionalities) wizardElite: @loiclemeur If I were the CEO of Seesmic I would make Seesmic accessible on the iPhone just like YouTube app.
pud: @loiclemeur get rid of that intro video on the homepage. serious information overload. also, http://seesmic.com/videos/Zrr8lUnf3v
ledretch: @loiclemeur what about the feature 'sending private video to non seesmic user' (eMail); I've so many friends using just eMail...
jmccusker: @loiclemeur Check out Google speech to text gadget --> http://bit.ly/4tiAAe
wedocreative: @loiclemeur without a doubt, speech to text...get it all indexed.
mikesax: @loiclemeur People who watch the Seesmic stream are invited to 'join the conversation at seesmic.com'. OK... I'll shut up :) Bonne chance!
mikesax: @loiclemeur Top priority is to attract new users: Offer free seesmic stream to companies that sell tv-ads and they will be your new channel.
psychiatry: @loiclemeur I think the most important direction is toward Star Trek sounds and a LCARS interface (ask me how).
reubstock: @loiclemeur -- seriously though -- we're seeing two trends colliding. Web based virtual worlds like Lively and low barrier multi user video
ledretch: @loiclemeur I'd propose seesmic as a huge communication tool for companies integrated in their Intranet, with a specific UI :)
reubstock: @loiclemeur -- enable virtual goods. when you're talking, I'd like to be able to throw a tomato at you
mikesax: @loiclemeur Seesmic channel (best of stream) distributed online, night-time cable TV, Tivo, XBox, etc. Seesmic EVERYWHERE! Attract new users
Ross: @loiclemeur listen to the community ;-) or, get into porn
earcos: @loiclemeur easy posting from mobile devices. I would love to post videos to Seesmic from my mobile phone or my Wi-Fi digital camera.
Mickeleh: @loiclemeur from the outside, that's impossible. But if you're asking about product direction, Twhirl for iPhone soul be a top priority
cesararevalo: @loiclemeur I would add support for video conferencing through the iPhone or other mobile devices
sdelbecque: @loiclemeur I'd invest massively in Mobile, because everyone's got a cameraphone nowadays.
jokerred: @loiclemeur or allow seesmic video messages to show directly from twhirl, or is it already possible?
drewolanoff: @loiclemeur purchase phreadz.com and hire @kosso
ryangraves: @loiclemeur...hmm I would focus my efforts on making video comments as comfortable for non-cutting edge people to use. twitter acquisition?
henry_david: @loiclemeur Work on aniPhone app. Thanks for doing that Loic!!
jokerred: @loiclemeur crowdsource the same question and implement it :)

Friendfeed feedback

why aren't you using phonetag or spinvox technology for transcription? - Randy
Love the fact how Loic interacts with his Users. This is great. - Muthu Ramadoss
Evernote is getting me to use it daily. I point my camera at a business card and it converts any text it sees from a graphic to searchable text. Do that for video and you have a major winner. - Robert Scoble
When I go to concerts I see tons of people recording it on cell phones. Why can't I do that on Seesmic? - Robert Scoble
Figure out how to do something for education. Make it easy to record your class and share it in a "Seesmication" section of the site. - Robert Scoble
Have a place just for politics. Particularly smart politics discussions. I have six videos of congressional leaders. Why isn't there a place for those to start a video conversation? - Robert Scoble
video comments attached to corporate documents. attach a seesmic to a pdf or word or powerpoint doc. great for big, global companies or sales pitches. incorporate seesmic in calendar invite responses. incorporate in jott to others. salesforce.com plugin to leave video comments about leads, contacts. - Morgan
Pets. They want to be on Seesmic too. Where are they accepted? - Robert Scoble
Post integration into Twhirl. These days I live in Twhirl - being able to post a reply via seemic to a Friendfeed item woudl be awesome. - Soulhuntre via twhirl

Get me a new computer with a webcam. I don't have good way to record anything video right now. - Mike Wills
Loic: how about a place for babies? Nothing but babies. You know me and Louis would hang out there! - Robert Scoble
Recording video on my moibile and uploading (or emailing) to Seesmic would be good - and as a reply if I chose that. More than one timeliine might also help. Sometimes it's too busy, especially with video blog comments going in there too. How many posts can one timeline sustain as a time? I never look at the twitter public timeline for instance. Having said that, there is the "following" timeline, but I'm not sure many use that in its current state. I should try using that more often. - jjprojects
Seesmic on Twhirl... - Orli Yakuel
But I still want Twhirl on my iPhone. It's really lame that other Twitter clients are there, but not Twhirl. - Robert Scoble
Wow, I really like Scoble's suggestions. Lifestreaming from mobile phones like Qik. - Erno Hannink
maybe partner with jott or similar to voice to text at least the first sentence or two so i can get the gist of the comment so i know if i want to listen or not. getting me to listen to more comments will make me more likely to leave a video comment - Christian Anderson
make seesmic the defacto business and social video commenting app. go sign as many bd deals as you can. add administration for business users, add integration for social apps and web sites. - Morgan
But the gadget stuff will make people want to use seesmic daily.. is there a way to easily upload Seesmic videos into Youtube? V-logging from phones (like Qik) - Mona N
Robert, I insult myself all day long on how I suck so bad we don't have Twhirl on iphone. I am stupid not having prioritized this. Stupid. Fire me. - Loic Le Meur via twhirl
Updating Myspace/Facebook statuses with the video links, even uploading the videos straight into Myspace and FaceBook by cell phone - Mona N
Make it possible to mark-up other people's videos using a Graphire tablet. Make it real easy to do: doodling, little comments, whatever. Then the marked-up videos can be attached as replies to the original. You'll get everything from LOLCATS to tortured political commentary. - Chris Baskind
Firefox addon can be helpful too. I mean: start record a video in one click without the need to visit seesmic site. - Orli Yakuel
Loic, Twhirl not just on today's story iPhone but on S60 for the millions of hard core users already out there using this stuff - Ivan Pope via twhirl
become the default communication/conversation channel between musicians and their fans. then, find all the situations where the few want to interact with the many and provide the 3 or 4 tools required for such interactive broadcasting. think in these terms: conversations are feedback loops that react and adapt rapidly. harness this and amplify this. - mike
Screen shot capabilities - Mona N
@Mona, that will be good as a twhirl feature. - Orli Yakuel
But what about for the people who don't use twhirl? I'm anti-Adobe Air - Mona N
Honestly, i don't think it's just a matter of software, but also a matter of behavior. Not many people are used to video document themselves on a daily basis and this is kind of new inventive way that will take time to get used to. [Just for the record, i don't think that Youtube self unboxing video is similar to seesmic] - Nir Ben Yona
I'd use Seesmic and more video in general if i could finally embed flash players in Gmail (even if it's just between Gmail users). Having a link to a video page is not good enough. Best of luck :-) - Majento
Add a plugin for slide presentations with voiceover and video/slide responses...would be awesome for teaching - joshuabacker
I want record in Thwirl, embedded player in my Gmail/email witha lso the function to send back a recordong from there. - Jake Fudge via twhirl
what about using Seesmic videos as a replacement/addition to emails. Say, putting a video and sending it as a response to other members of Seesmic or outside? Also, perhaps some queuing ability to/from mobile phones (for those with slower connections). Possibility of extracting text and sound from video, perhaps? And generally, all things that normal online conversations have (moderation, creation of topical threads, featured topics, etc). - Hayk
video mailing (like emailing) ability for Seesmic members (receiving among them as video and converting into an email format with video attachment when sent to Gmail,Hotmail, etc). Many would love this ability - to record some on a phone upload it and send it to each other. - Hayk
video marketing tool to promote for businesses - video already plays an important role in business promotion and branding (cool hunters) http://www.thumbshots.org/arti... - Hayk
Greeting-card style videos for loved ones, online education(art critiques), speed dating, instructables, online chess games, sign language lessons... more as i think of it - sergiooo (droffset)
I'd like to have private conversations with fellow members of an international networking and social change organisation. Some things are sensitive, and not just in the copyright, obscene, illegal way... - Justin Guy Souter
Travel logs and recommendations by showing video/photo shots of historic or otherwise tourist-attracting sites - can be a good feature to pitch Seesmic to travel agencies and for educational reasons. Presentations on leadership, management, etc. by prominent professors, businessmen. - Hayk
This is brilliant. Loic is on a rampage! He's the uber pro-active CEO monster! - Bryan Landers
iPhone app. - Robert Scoble
Buy the creole restaurant owned by the biggest Bill Cosby fan ever, somewhere near Notre Dame. - Tracy Dempsey
Invest heavily in speech recognition so that video comments can be read textually. - Eric Florenzano
Agree with Eric, speach recognition with simultaneous translation ! - Jean-François Amadei via twhirl
A phone App to seesmic-ing with our iPhone - Jean-François Amadei via twhirl
Myspace and FaceBook integration, and congruency between browsers. Personally I'm a fan of the black UI on Safari vs the white interface on FF - Mona N
Definitely audio/video recognition so people/object can be computationally tagged. Video is becoming like pictures.. and keeping track of videos is going to get more and more difficult. Seesmic is cool but I think it can really stand out if it takes the video technology to the next level. you should also enable audio conversations/replies. Some people want to reply or take part using just speech. ALso i think mobile integration is important, being able to participate and listen/watch through your phone. - Akshay
love the idea of speech recognition - ledretch via twhirl
selling the company to xxxx, take the money and run on an island, like the ex "la fraise" CEO did :) (friend of your isn't it?) - aruban via twhirl
A talent contest like Pop Idol(Web Idol) having a great geek jury ; ) Choose the 4? - Erhan Erdogan
without a doubt, speech to text...get it all indexed. - Zee from WeDoCreative
Check out Google speech to text gadget --> http://bit.ly/4tiAAe - Jim McCusker
Make it work in Firefox. Vids don't play about 60% of the time when clicked from external link (non Seesmic) - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
I'd hire an interesting VIP and provide people the opportunity talking to someone they would mostly never have the chance to meet and talk with in real world - Margit Hinke
hmmm ideas: 1. I would make a bookmarklet that would allow me to share a link with my video comments. 2. I would get seesmic running in twhirl asap 3. Figure out how to get mobile video working in America (iphone or through a custom email for all the other phones with video capability). 4. I would license Summize.com type search for seesmic so that videos and conversations could be tracked, replied and engaged with greater ease. 5. Wordpress and Typepad plugin development, become the vlog tool of choice - Tony
text to speech, so I can write/SMS/twitter a comment and have my avatar lipsync it as a CGI-generated seesmic for when I don't have a camera. - Bill Thompson via twhirl
+1 for the VIP - Jean-François Amadei via twhirl
thank you all, I will sum up all of your suggestions (and the ones I got on other social software) in one post, keep them going - Loic Le Meur
Convince eBay to integrate Seesmic for feedback, contact on sellers/buyers - Daniel De Luca via twhirl
Robert (Scoble!) iphone would not get you use Seesmic. I am interested in what would make YOU use Seesmic. thanks for your help! - Loic Le Meur
I agree with a bunch of other people an iPhone app but I also think having a version that isn't so reliant on flash would be nice so that some of those things like the OLPC and stuff would be able to support it out of the box (since you are going to start with taht educational version I think I read about) - Andrew Fielding
Loic - if you could give Scoble Qik capability via Seemic except better quality, I bet he'd bite (: - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
The possibility to add special effects on the videos, based on face detection (ie: use another background, put a hat/sunglasses/moustache on the face...) - Federico Fasce via twhirl
So I am going to take a different approach. As a CEO with $10M in VC cash number one priority would be to grow seesmic. Increase the stockholder value. I think technologically speech recognition would be great but its not going to immediately grow(users/PViews). I think partnerships and bring VIPs as someone mentioned would be a good start. Video conversations is interesting but for people to come to the site and really use a service like this you need interesting content as a topic of discussion.... - Akshay
I liked a lot Tony's ideas. If the posibility of croping video/photo partsfrom original video stream were possible, then a stumbleupon feature (specifying video/photo interest and navigating through them) and del.icio.us like feature of bookmarking certain video/photo parts of a video stream or the entirely would be cool. Also a possibility of somehow putting together bunch of photos into a Seesmic video woldnt be bad, via iPhone or on web. - Hayk
... like youtube the responses works really well when there is a good content. I think if you are able to bring video content to seesmic, user generated or partnerships and have people discuss those. That can create major buzz. Seesmic does conversations really, but honestly I don't want to take my conversation over there. I want to respond to popular content/ideas. - Akshay
download my video's - so I can share them also via other sites - Erno Hannink
Another idea 6. is to have a "room" sort of functionality cooked in that could be private, similar to Friendfeeds model. Except it could be used like 37 Signals "Journal" feature for teams, groups or any other types of social or affinity circles of people. I think a barrier for a lot of people with seesmic could be that everyone sees you, instead of just the people you already know or want to connect with - (ie everyday usage). - Tony
Oh yes, MP4 links so when I embed videos in to my blog they get picked up and sent as podcast via Feedburner - Douglas E. Welch via twhirl
I'd do ADULT rooms... - Margit Hinke
Hahaha ! Adult room, funny idea... - Jean-François Amadei via twhirl
I'd let someone special do her/his VERY PRIVATE seesmic DIARY for a while... for example the wife who gave a special Bday present to her husband:1 year - 365 days sex every day - probably u heard about this story since the couple wrote a book about this special time.... every day 60 seconds talk about ... and Im absolutly sure people will love it. - Margit Hinke
Another idea, if i may add, could be perhaps to organize live chat/conversations/interviews with Seesmic members/invited guests on streets/restaurants etc. Members voting for topic(s) and then once-per-month (periodical) live chat/conversation on that topic(s). - Hayk
Maybe have a hotkey that will do a picture-in-picture from an image on your computer. For example, if you're telling a story about your vacation, while you're talking you can hit the ctrl-1 key to show a pre-defined slide as an overlaid PIP. With another key you can make it toggle full-screen. This way you can do lectures with visual aids. Online video presentations and education FTW. - sergiooo (droffset)
Also, while you're recording a video it would be great to type out a web link or just some text and have it appear on the screen as a title, maybe even clickable from an attached window thing. Online educators would love this, and it would help with special needs students. (can you tell I taught for a while? hehe) - sergiooo (droffset

About

Welcome to my blog. Based in San Francisco, I am an entrepreneur and a blogger. I just started my fifth startup, Seesmic, a community driven video social software. Here is what TechCrunch says about it.

I am blogging every day a video on loic.tv about (almost) everything I do as I start Seesmic, I also constantly post short thoughts to twitter and often my pictures on Flickr.

I also organize every year in Paris the conference LeWeb3 that gathers more than a thousand bloggers and entrepreneurs from 40 countries on Dec 11 and 12.

If you would like to learn more, here is a bio, my LinkedIn profile, my wikipedia pages in english and french. Sometimes they are subject to changes that do not always reflect what I consider the truth but that is the principle.

You may also want to subscribe to my RSS feeds in English, French or my video podcast feed.
