Seesmic is the first Silverlight client ever, thanks Microsoft and Tequila-Rapido
Microsoft Silverlight is preparing a mobile version and Microsoft and Tequila-Rapido worked with Seesmic to prepare the first ever Silverlight mobile client. Thank you Toufik Lerari of Tequila-Rapido and the Microsoft team Marc Jalabert, Benjamin Gauthey, Julien Codorniou and Kris Hoet would partnered with us on this. I was very impressed by the efforts of both Microsoft and Tequila-rapido.
The partnership started at Mix08 in Las Vegas just during a lunch as my friend Ouriel can witness, I always love what can randomly happen at these conferences.
The client is still a prototype so it is not available for download but you can see a preview in my video. If anybody of Microsoft US reads this I would love to get contacts here as well to partner, Seesmic also owns the very popular client Twhirl (7% of all tweets sent daily) so maybe we could talk about this too. In any case, I am thrilled that Microsoft chose Seesmic as a test platform to push the limits of Silverlight mobile. It lets you do pretty much everything Seesmic web based lets you do: record a video, see the videos of your friends, reply to their videos, see their profiles... Looking forward to an even deeper partnership with both.
There was a great coverage in France (none in the US yet but the launch occurred at Mix Paris) on TechCrunch France, FredCavazza, Neteco and Le Monde Informatique. Benjamin Gauthey has pictures.
