So long, Madrid

Waya invited me yesterday to speak at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, one of the leading MBAs in Europe. As always, I enjoyed talking about entrepreneurship with the students and meeting you all. Followed by a great evening with Waya et Martin (gracias!), this short trip reminded me how much I love spain. I have always felt like home in Spain, the fact that my mother is spanish explains most of it I guess, I love spain, I would easily move there and learn spanish again. Enrique Dans has blogged in spanish most of what I said. Was good to see you all, see you soon again and good luck to the students for their future entrepreneurial experiences. Enrique, you blog faster than me on your Blackberry !

Thank you for your very interesting presentation. I wanted to share with your readers another empirical example of the power of "word of mouth" that you highlighted in your speach. The President of Bluehost.com explains in his blog that one of the biggest sources of revenue for them is word of mouth, and gives specific numbers to back this statement.

Desarrollar una buena idea es una tarea relativamente sencilla y barata. Pero convertirla en una realidad es un proceso difícil y costoso. Por eso, patentar ideas es una mala idea que ahoga la innovación. Incluso las patentes en general pueden no ser... [Read More]

About

Welcome to my blog. Based in San Francisco, I am an entrepreneur and a blogger. I just started my fifth startup, Seesmic, a community driven video social software. Here is what TechCrunch says about it.

I am blogging every day a video on loic.tv about (almost) everything I do as I start Seesmic, I also constantly post short thoughts to twitter and often my pictures on Flickr.

I also organize every year in Paris the conference LeWeb3 that gathers more than a thousand bloggers and entrepreneurs from 40 countries on Dec 11 and 12.

If you would like to learn more, here is a bio, my LinkedIn profile, my wikipedia pages in english and french. Sometimes they are subject to changes that do not always reflect what I consider the truth but that is the principle.

You may also want to subscribe to my RSS feeds in English, French or my video podcast feed.
