A DVD in my video iPod

Photos Uncategorized 30102005003I followed diveintomark's guidelines and now I successfully riped the Eyes Wide Shut movie into my brand new iPod video. The software takes any DVD and changes it into the right format, very cool. My 32 Gb iPod can hold more than 30 full length movies... Even though the screen is small, it is nice to have all these movies in your pockets, and hopefully there will be more video podcasts soon too.

You can't even abandon your partner in the street anymore

Olivier has been my partner in various ventures including Six Apart Europe for about 10 years, it is amazing I cannot continue to treat him like I did without Nob trying to tell everybody.

My book, Blog pour les Pros, is now printed

Blogproscover
Blogs pour les pros, my book on corporate blogging is printed, I received my own yesterday. It is my first book so I feel happy to see it after all those hours writing it. I wrote it with the help of Laurence Beauvais, author and journalist, who wrote a few chapters and corrected my style... I also blogged all the chapters as I wrote them and got many good comments and corrections from my French blog readers. Dunod, my editor, was a bit scared about leaving the chapters blogged as the book was out but finally accepted it. I don't think it will jeopardize the sales at all, nobody wants to read a book on a computer screen.

I have no plans right now to translate the book as is in any other language especially english as I have no editor, but I am wondering about translating the texts and just blogging them...

Back from San Francisco...

Just back in Paris, I had a wonderful week after this terrible flight. Unfortunately I can't tell you much about our two days meeting at Six Apart to prepare 2006, but I can say I had a wonderful dinner with Bernadette and Jeff (Jeff advised me to read Techcrunch, very good to follow the new startups in the area), I ran every single day from 45 minutes to an hour which was really cool, wondered for hours as always why I don't live in the SF Bay area with Reid, spent some time in our office (not enough).

Thanks as well Edouard and the entire France Telecom R&D San Francisco team for this wonderful brainstorming afternoon in your offices and such a VIP welcome ! Hope to see you all soon.

I had finally the great pleasure of having dinner with Shel Israel, we both met for the first time and felt like old friends as we both read ourselves and I try to help for Naked Conversations. See you in Paris, Shel, was great fun to see ya in SF.

Oh and thanks again Marc and Thomas (from Beaucastel and Palmer, both of them blog, see also the after dinner picture) for inviting me to a memorable dinner at Michael Mina, you can see some pictures on my moblog. I never had such a wine (and so many glasses in front of me), here is what we tasted: Beaucastel Blanc Vieilles Vignes 2003, Beaucastel 1999, Beaucastel 1990, Beaucastel 1985, Chateau Palmer 1998, Chateau Palmer 1991, Chateau Palmer 1981, Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin 1998, Chateau Palmer 2000 and finally the two rare Beaucastel 1978 and Chateau Palmer 1961... Amazing ! You can see a short video (3GPP) of Marc explaining the first wine.

Running the Stanford Campus

I have just been running in the Stanford campus, very cool. I have run about an hour at 10 km/h, while 15 000 women have started running the Nike San Francisco Marathon this morning. I am not jealous, I could not run for 4 hours with that training...

Speaking at Bloggforum 3 in Stockholm in November

Thanks Stefan Geens for inviting me to speak at Bloggforum 3 in Stockholm on November 19th, I have never been to Sweden and always wanted to so here is the occasion !

In San Francisco after a 22 hours flight...

Just arrived after the worst flight I have ever had... The toilet tank of the airplane has a problem and from Paris to San Francisco we had to stop twice, once in Goose Bay Canada and another one in NY to empty the tank ! It took us around 22 hours to reach San Francisco.

The funniest hostess message we've had, half an hour before finally landing in San Francisco: "please don't go to the toilets anymore, the tank is full, or we'll have to land again to empty it".

Incredible. This was United Airlines flight UA 927 "non stop" Paris to SF that turned into a two-stop, limited toilet, 22 hours flight !

Anyway, I will be in SF until thursday morning, quite busy.

About

Welcome to my blog. Based in San Francisco, I am an entrepreneur and a blogger. I just started my fifth startup, Seesmic, a community driven video social software. Here is what TechCrunch says about it.

I am blogging every day a video on loic.tv about (almost) everything I do as I start Seesmic, I also constantly post short thoughts to twitter and often my pictures on Flickr.

I also organize every year in Paris the conference LeWeb3 that gathers more than a thousand bloggers and entrepreneurs from 40 countries on Dec 11 and 12.

If you would like to learn more, here is a bio, my LinkedIn profile, my wikipedia pages in english and french. Sometimes they are subject to changes that do not always reflect what I consider the truth but that is the principle.

You may also want to subscribe to my RSS feeds in English, French or my video podcast feed.
